Emperor Darius Azariah Vakarian (a.k.a. The Lance)
The Firstborn Son of Emperor Tyrus Vakarian, the Founder of the Vayldar Empire. From his earliest days in the scholams of Zemeria, Darius showed great promise and potential. Schooled in both war and statecraft by the finest minds of the Empire Darius has been shaped into a leader for his fledgling Empire. However, his first real test came far earlier than expected. After the sudden death of his father Tyrus, at the age of just sixteen Darius ascended to the Throne, within the first six months of his rule Vayldar's northern border's were besieged by a brutal Uruk Warlord, several towns were lost before his troops could react. To further complicate matters, a clan of Drakkar, ancient adversaries of the human kingdoms were fleeing ahead of the Uruk, deep into empire territory.
The young emperor had his finest knights ride out to meet the Drakkar, surrounding them. Where others may have seen only a threat, Darius saw an opportunity and offered the Drakkar tribe sanctuary within the empire in exchange for their aid in repelling the invading Uruks. The Drakkar Chief, a mighty warrior named Zralasar Tu'gar challenged Darius to combat to determine their loyalty and Drakkar only follow strength. Though young Darius had been trained by the best of the best and agreed to the Chief's request. Though physically overpowered, Darius had a basic command of the light and though the battle was long and fierce he was able to overpower the old Drakkar, earning his respect and the loyalty of Clan Tu'gar.
He earned his nickname "The Lance" for his daring strike that cut deep through the Uruk lines to claim the head of the Warlord and break the morale of the Uruks.
