Nomadic Tribes

In the Sea of Hooves to the south live the mighty nomadic tribes. Originally populated by Centaurs the nomadic tribes have grown to encompass all races except for Merfolk who prefer to stay by the water. Generally they value strength and tenacity most though wisdom and cunning are not too far behind. Each tribe is proud of its history and ancestry and create portable shrines and monuments to their history. Most of the tribes are hunters and gatherers who roam the southern plains following herds of dinosaurs, dragons, and deer. Most tribes wander through territory they have claimed as their own or through routes they have earned during the great chieftains council every winter. Some tribes have even started small permanent settlements they use to store excess goods as well as establish places of trade for those brave enough to traverse the Sea of Hooves.

Structure

Tribes are run by a central Chieftain who acts as the leader of the tribe and general. In most tribes there is a Council of Elders who act as judges and counselors to the Chieftain. Though in some tribes the Chieftain reigns supreme. A small minority of tribes are ruled by Shamans who consult with the dead Chieftains and Shamans of old for wisdom.

Assets

Tribals live in Yurts and Tepees or other form of portable tent. Though 2 tribes, The Blue Boxes and the Dragon Hustlers tribes have built mini houses they pull on carts with dinosaurs. Tribals are great craftsman when it comes to carvings of any kind or making jewelry from bone, amber, and uncut precious gems.

CLOTHING

Most Tribals wear clothes made from animal hides or silks traded from Azteca. In camp most wear dresses or skirts. For women this is to prevent clothes being soiled during hormone cycles and for men is a sign of support and respect towards women. While hunting or fighting both wear pants for creator range of motion. Most men and woman go topless (though many women wear bands across their breasts for support) to show of their muscular bodies to intimidate any who wish to challenge them to a duel.

Silk is often used to make see through tops, robes, or parts of skirts. It is used as ether a status symbol of wealth and stability or pink silk is used as a sign that one is looking for a mate. This has led to a lucrative silk business in Baldur and Azteca where most suppliers deal expressly with tribals instead of their own people. Should a tribal wearing (none pink) silk clothes lose a duel they must give their silk to their opponent. If they are disgraced in some way they are also forbidden from wearing silk until they prove themselves in a hunt, duel, combat, or other endeavor. The same rules apply to teeth of large predatory animals or gold. This has developed from the fact that the tribes well being relies on its members being strong.

History

When King Carson created Avalon Kingdom he attempted to expel all Fabricated from his kingdom. While this never happened it did lead to a small period of 3 years where Fabricated were persecuted by its people. During this time many Fabricated left for the Dwarven City States, Norden Reunia or the nomadic Centaur Herds were they were welcomed with open arms. Some of the more aggressive however decided to band together and create their own nomadic tribes.

The first to break away was 3 Orc tribes. The Blood Moon Kings, Phantom Tooth, and Saber Tooth tribes were filled with veterans from the 1ST Aryan War who were upset at being treated unfairly by King Carson. Frustrated the other nations wouldn't fight for their rights these tribes headed south to live as nomadic raiders. They were soon joined by many Toren and Numeni. Over the years many of the other races left to join the tribes as a way to live a simple life filled with adventure away from the political schemes of the north.

Over the years the tribes have always been in a near constant state of war with each other and the nations of Baldur and Prussia who live on the boarder with the Sea of Hooves. This has led to the tribals being very skilled in combat and dangerous foes. During the 2nd Aryan War the Aryans foolishly attempted to conquer the Sea of Hooves. They marched for days through the plains before realizing they were being hunted by every tribe in the plains. Of that expedition not a single soul was every seen again. Adventurers who have tried to loot those ancient battle fields can't even find bodies of the nearly 250,000 soldiers and beasts.

Currently the Nomadic Tribes are at peace with Avalon Valley preferring to learn the new lands after the great changes from the Age of the Godless. Traders from both Avalon Valley and Azteca have become very comman and some tribes including the Dragon Hustlers have wandered into Avalon Valley to do trade more easily with those nations.

Military

Most nomadic tribes fight bows from mounts or on their feet with swords and spears. Warriors usually wear little armor as a sign of courage and skill. Most warriors wear leather bands, bikinis, or go completely topless altogether men and women. They will carry shields and often add bosses or spikes to their shields to give some ability as offensive weapons. If Tribals wear metal armor it is usually a small breastplate of scale male or plate armor to cover the majority of the torso. Most who wear this armor wield two handed weapons instead of keeping one hand free for a shield. Mounted warriors will often wear armor on their arms and legs to protect them more from their mounts and bows then enemies.

While this had put them at a disadvantage to bows and firearms most regular armies find Tribal bowman not just superior but also in greater numbers than their own. This has seemed to at least for the moment negate any disadvantage tribal armies have wearing light or no armor.

Religion

Tribals respect the main pantheon of gods and will often give offerings to Zeus, Coyote, and Artemis. Their main worship however is that of their ancestors. Family lineage, honor and history is considered of great importance. Each new member is expected to regularly give offerings to those who came before them and add to the legacy they left behind.
