King Læging Vélokk, also known as
Læging of the Velking, was the first
King of the Ferjunn and a legendary figure in
Ferjunn folklore.
History
According to legend, Læging was born in the Fjalstand Isles to a Velking woman, a lesser Ferjunn clan. His early life was unrecorded before the voyage to "Nyrland", but it was during the great exodus that Hrungnir Gylbitir wrote of his exploits. The Velking were part of the third voyage alongside their bitter rivals, the Osting, who had planned to kill their rivals along the way.
