Court of Stars

Knowledge is Power.

A coalition of rulers from cities, they focus on knowledge and attaining it. As they know every living being dies, they also try to write down this knowledge so other generations can know it and improve from it. Right now, they are almost exclusively focused on attaining the knowledge on how to bring back the magic that was lost. They want to know the answer to this question: 'How do we reverse what happened so long ago?"

Structure

The highest seat is called the High One, and Zylwenys currently holds this seat. The High One only gives guidance on a few subjects, as they spend most of their time focusing on learning the answer to the question they decide when they are appointed. This is a life-long position that only ends when either the High One dies, or they answer their question, then the Court, as well as the people, vote on who should be the next High One. Sages are the ones who make of the Court as well as rule a city. They are appointed by test to show knowledge and capability in being in the court. There is one Sage per city, and with 7 cities, this makes a small Court. Scholars are the ones who deal with the day-to-day stuff required for running a city, and with any non-critical matters that the Sage is not needed for. Students make up the working class, who do what the Scholars say.

Public Agenda

While each Sage may have a question of their own, they all swear that they will spend a significant portion of their time trying to help the High One to find the answer they seek to their question. This is the agenda the Court has.

Assets

Hundreds of thousands of silver, with nearly a thousand gold, fill the treasury of this nation. Opulent castles which are well defended are in each city, the greatest and most well-defended being in the capital Ekrale.

Demography and Population

Most of the people inhabit the Elf cities, and they are also elves. No non-elf is inside the city unless allowed by the Scholar, and any that officially is a part of the nation inhabits the few towns surrounding the cities. About 90% of the population are elves, with about 7% being human, 2% being Lupian, and the last 1% are small clusters of rare races.

Territories

The only area this nation owns is the The Misty Forest and occupies no other area, and seemingly has no will to expand out any further.

Military

The arms and armor of the military are superior to any other in the world, but they have few enrolled in the military, on top of the fact that they are not particularly big population-wise.

Technological Level

Many technologies are available and made for the citizens for their quality of life, and some warfare technologies make it so their weapons are better quality and generally better in trained hands than others.

Religion

Religion in of itself is outlawed and taboo, as they think religion was the reason why the world ended up as it is today, so they want nothing to do with that. Anyone who openly expresses religious stuff is massively oppressed.

Foreign Relations

Poor to no relationships with many of the other nations, but does have good relationships with both the Lands of the Dragon Princes and the Kingdom of the Sea Lords.

Agriculture & Industry

While certainly a technological powerhouse, the industry isn't as high as it could be. Low resources and low amount of workers make it hard to keep production up.

Trade & Transport

They have a trading agreement with the Kingdom of the Sea Lords, and they used to have an agreement with the Lands of the Dragon Princes before they closed their borders.

Education

Every elf gets a college-level state-funded education, while non-elves get no education whatsoever. A lot of disparity happens because of this.

Infrastructure

A technology they have made allowed them to make giant trees and hollow them out, allowing for towers to be made out of them. While mostly used for border towers, it is also used as a road marker of sorts. Sewage is dealt with by burning, mostly, as they have not figured out how to get useful material out of it. The roads are sort of poor, and are only pathways, with few being large enough for a caravan to actually get through.
