The Plane of Shadows and Nightmares
The Plane of Shadows and Nightmares is home to Pravaena the Lady of Nightmares. It is a plane that an ancient spell sent her to, in which she resided for decades searching for a way back home. Home to countless horrors and aberations, which The Dream Queen can summon forth into the mortal realm.
It is on this plane that the Mistress of Torpor found the ritual that allowed her to transcend mortality and become a divine being. So it only makes sense that she would choose the realm as her own and that it would be the seat of her throne of nightmares. It has come to be called the Dreamlands among the followers of the Nightmare Mistress.
The Dreamlands are ever changing and can be shaped by The Nightmare Mistress' will. She pulls from people's nightmares to further alter her plane, bringing new nightmarish abominations into existance.
Geography
The Dreamlands are an ethereal plane comprised of a multitude of different terrain. From the rocky crags, to desolate expanses of sharp black sand, to deep lakes that one can only see a few feet into, the gepgraphy of the Dreamlands is a work of nightmarish creation. It is not uncommon to see bunches of candles throughout the realm, as they are the most common form of lighting besides the ever present moons. Parts of the Dreamlands exist as a dark echo of the prime material plane, with dark gothic architecture and an overall somber and frightening feel about them.
Localized Phenomena
As master of the Plane of Shadows and Nightmares Pravaena the Lady of Nightmares can bend the plane to her will.
