Black lung

Black lung disease or black lung, is caused by long-term exposure to coal dust. It is common in coal miners and others who work with coal. Prolonged exposure to large amounts of coal dust can result in more serious forms of the disease.

Transmission & Vectors

Working long term with coal either through mining it or using it a lot, one will eventually breathe in sufficient coal dust to acquire this condition.

Treatment

There is no known treatment for it. Magic healing spells offer some slight relief but only temporarily.

Prognosis

It usually causes some light inflammation of the lungs but in more severe cases of the disease it can cause scarring of the lung tissue and destroy portions of the lung and blood vessels inside.
