Government

The Governor is the Head of the most prominent noble house and is advised by a council of the heads of the other Houses who each run a section of the city and surrounding farmland. The Captain Commander leads the Military in this region of the kingdom and answers directly to the Governor. There is also The Conclave of the head of each of the guilds with a hall in the city that oversees much of the running of business and answers to the Council of Nobles.

Defences

A significant outer wall ringing the residential districts as well and an inner wall protecting the governing structures of the city. There are 3 infantry barracks and training grounds for archers and soldiers and 2 cavalry stables and barracks for fielding or moving large armies rapidly.

Industry & Trade

Kent is a trade hub to its core, whether good or armies (and their never ending supply lists). Virtually anything that can be purchased anywhere in Aurus can be found in Kent. Exotic foods and alcohols, rare art and fine cloth, the best and most illegal drugs, there is a buyer and a seller here if you know where to look.

Infrastructure

The inner city where the Governor's mansion, Central Chlothic Temple, and Military Command are at is surrounded by a tall, thick wall of stark, grey granite with white quarts reinforcements, crenelations and watch posts. North of the Inner City is The Garden District where the other nobility have their houses and a large surrounding park and botanical gardens that is also walled, though with somewhat shorter walls. The rest of the city is divided into quadrants by the East Kingsway coming in and three other main highways moving out to the rest of the region. flanking the southwester wall of the inner city is the cities vast cemetery and Alethean temple, on the southeastern wall is the guildhall district; together with the Garden District they ring the inner city leaving any approach to the inner wall mostly open. Outside of this ring is a broad ring of shops, taverns, inns, and craftsmen making up the trade district with the largest and most outer ring being mostly residential neighborhoods which is surrounded by a lower but thicker wall than the inner city. Outside this wall farms are planned in such a way as to keep almost a mile of countryside clear of any vegetation taller than a halfling.

Assets

Kent is the major trade and transportation hub for the entire region. Any military forces or trade good moving into or out of the area pass through it and that is its main source of growth and income. Most of the dragonmarked houses have a guildhall in Kent.

Guilds and Factions

Guilds:House Cannith, House Denieth, House Ghallandah, House Sivis, House Orien, House Thrashk, House Kundarak, House Jorasco, The Sheathed Fist Fighter's Hall, The Nightfingers Thieves Guild, Starmyst Wizard's College, and the College of the White Duke Bards and Companionship guilds all opporate and have strongholds within Kent.
Political Factions: The Conclave (council of the guild heads), The Noble's Alliance of the Blood, and the Governor's Household.

History

Kent began as a military camp at a convenient spot for distributing troops and resources to secure Territh's southwestern borders as well as the trade with the Kordelvar and Fendelvar of the South Furthen Loft on the west and defend against the strange monsters that wander out of The Ravenwall in the south.

Architecture

The South Furthen Wall has a high quality grey granite and white quartz that the Kordelvar quarry and sell, primarily to the Thraindurin dwarves in the foothills to the east of the mountain range but they are always happy to sell to Kent or other settlements that can afford their labor and transportation fees. There are also several large clay deposits of a unique dark green that is of brick and single quality within the Thraindurrin territories. These two resources define that majority of the architecture of Kent. Dark grey walls with white accents and green shingle roofs in a Gothic Victorian style are the dominant look for those able to afford stone structures.

Geography

The gently rolling hills throughout Territh steadily become foothills as you move west or southwest toward either of the bordering mountain ranges, and thick forests dominate to the south and southeast.
