Significance

The orb may be a way to control the undead or to destroy them. The artifact is very powerful. It may have an influence on the minds of men. It may have been sent here by powers unknown to destroy us. It may also be our deliverance.
The orb glows a shockingly bright green and glows and pulsates with light as if it were some kind of beating heart. Deadly to the touch it seems to have its own unique vibration connected somehow to the dead, able to rise their corpses, but seemingly does not direct them as would a necromancer, vampire or lich. To this end conjecture remains that it is a construct or artifact fashioned by one of the undead elite, or somehow something else, perhaps even off-world that had arrived on our planet by means accidental or otherwise.
