Encapsulation Therapy

{WIP} During the process of capturing a specific thought or memory, it's possible to have some of the patient's ether sheared away. This lost energy dissipates into the ether flow of Aufyra, typically returning to the earth unhindered. The "stickiness" of the human soul matrix can commonly cause these sheared parts to end up stuck in various places of ether coagulation. This Therapy is a direct cause of creating conglomerate faeries, part of the reason why they end up seen outside the Capital waterways so frequently. The shaved parts of the soul matrix can create a conglom faerie that looks similar to the patient, or similar to the person or thing related to the memory/emotion the patient wished to seal off. Encapsulation Therapy is a treatment still in testing, offered as an alternative to the usual mental health tools like interpersonal therapy with a psych, medication, etc. This allows the patient to identify, select, and immediately seal specific emotions or memories that cause them distress. These memories are not removed but locked off within the mind. This seal clamps off the area; can shear off ether (see above). The actual equipment used for the process features several seats connected to one main "computer" interface. The patient's consciousness is used to create a landscape that is a manifestation of the human mind; the brain can perceive these signals as something it can actually comprehend, a physical space to navigate through. Our senses and existence aren't really conducive to exploring electrical waves in the brain, but in this way we can actually interact with them. In a typical session, the patient will be in the main seat, and the doctor will be hooked up to another. As of this time, there is only a single facility with the equipment to perform such things. At least to public knowledge. CoK has its own variation of the technology, and this "healthcare" offered is one way they convince its lackeys to join the organization. The doctor explores the physical manifestation of the patient's mind. They take the information given from the patient in the waking world (i.e; I want to forget x memory) and search the soulscape for what exactly is the manifestation of this memory. It's not perfect. Say someone wanted to forget the sorrow they felt when someone passed away. A doctor may find a representation of this person in the patient's soulscape. Say they designate the brain signals manifesting this representation, and use capsule tech to seal it off. This process isn't precise enough to lock off "sorrow related to this person" and could just lock off "this person" as a whole, causing the patient to forget everything about them, rather than the sorrow they felt. More than one person can travel in a patient's soulscape at a time. The more people traversing their brainwaves, the higher the stress on the patient, however.
