Solkerror's Terror

It's Beautiful, in a sense.
The colors, the patterns.
Even now, that it is a mere fragment of itself.
The number of variables that need to converge for this to happen.
For this to also not be possible in a way that would immediately fry every living being on this pitiful continent.
It almost makes you feel like a work of something greater, something out there, watching for us.
And then you realize, that such something would pretty much be the cause of all our suffering in the first place.

Description

Solkerror Terror is the name for a massive storm that appears across a large portion of Atocitera.
Spanning over numerous locations at once, this majestic storm announces the start of spring and the end of the long winter.   Its potency is enough to trigger reactions otherwise unseen.
While being a necessity for the survival of certain species, the dangers it brings are enough for Planners to discourage any possible raids.

Occurrence

This specific kind of storm can only happen at the end of the long orbit during cold winter.
While Atocitera swings out of Solkerror's shadow numerous times during the winter, the number of sunrays that arrive at Atocitera in that time span is not enough to trigger the storm.
It takes the spring equinox to heat Atocitera enough for winter to finally give up.
The increase in humidity, fog, and consequently clouds, caused by the sharp and long increase in temperature is a perfect place for the birth of a large amount of lightning.
Because this increase in heat affects the entire Atocitera, the resulting clouds cover the majority and rarely even the entirety of the continent.   As the storm builds up it is accompanied by an increased amount of static electricity building up on all Atocites , which serves as the last warning for humans living on them.
Usually lasting for one to three entire days, this storm disappears slowly. With clouds dissipating over some areas sooner than others.
The unpredictable length of the storm also makes preparation for it much harder. Hence the Planners are calculating the appearance of the storm towards the supplies needed for winter preparations.

Effects

As the first signs of Solkerrors's Terror slowly appear, creatures and plants all over the continent react in their way.
Every species which stores Charge will tap into it to create the same charge as the one in the storm above them. Therefore protecting themselves from direct lightning strikes or in some extreme cases attempting to direct them to themselves.   Species that feed on electricity will attempt to create situations, in which bolts of lightning strike them or the area they inhabit.
These species then use this abundant amount of their food to engage in mating season.   If Solkerror's Terror happens during Corruption wave, the resulting combination of lightning bolts and Corruption can create entirely new electricity-based lifeforms.

Dangers

The lightning released by this storm is just one of its dangers.
The creatures and plants, using their reservoirs of Charge Flow, are dangerous due to their own electrical charge. Be it for attracting or repelling the lightning bolts, some predators decide not to hunt their usual prey due to the abnormal electricity charges they hold at that moment.
The storm is a mating season for all creatures, plants, and other lifeforms feeding on electricity.
While being the best time for hunting them for their rare resources, only a few Raiders are actually ever truly prepared for raids during these conditions.
Planners tend to avoid sending out raids during this major storm. In hopes to discourage raiders from raiding at this time, they even impose penalties for those reckless raiders.   Even before the storm itself hits, the increase of fog before it forms is something not worth underestimating.
Humans living on Atocites are not the only ones preparing. Predators tend to be very active in the fog, trying to seize any possible prey before it will be too dangerous for them to show up.

This is such a cool concept! I love how you added information about the plants and animals surviving/using/adapting for the storm.
