Elemental critters

We are certain these were not existing before the Cataclysm. They just appeared one day and are the same as they aways were.
Unchanging.

Their existence defies what seems to be the core principle of Atocitera since the Cataclysm.

Description

Elemental critters are various unchanging life forms that stay the same no matter how many generations they went through.
Being one of the very few constants on Atocitera, these life forms pair with colors of Elements of the Flow. However, no special properties apart from their unchanging nature were observed.
Even though the Elemental critters pair to each element of Flow, they are surprisingly devoid of Flow. Not a single wanderer was able to see them in the Flow Dimension.

Creation and History

Noone could trace their roots to some concrete beginning. They were not there, and then one day they were. Appearing out of nowhere.
Even though their origin is unknown, each elemental critter is able to procreate via parasitic means.
Their beneficial effects became apparent as soon as people got into contact with them. But it took numerous years of researching to figure out how each critter turns onto its host. Some critters were easier to research than others, namely to some being easier to encounter.

Spreading

Each of the Elemental critters has its own means of reproduction. But one thing is the same for all of them: They start as symbiotes, being beneficial for their host, before turning on him and using the host to spawn new specimens

Variations

As each Element of the Flow is different, so is every elemental critter. Be it in their benefits, their shape and form, or the means they take over the host. Due to the variations being their own species, only a brief description will be included here.
Chiming Shard - Blossom
Small lime-colored crystal with multiple thin silk veils attached to it like an onion. Floats in the air and attaches itself inside of the host's ears.
Enhances hearing by magnifying the vibrations through its silk. While it feeds on the brainwaves, triggering short-term memory issues.
Takes over host by intruding its dreams. Once it gets the host's permission in dreams it triggers long slumber as it starts growing into its brain.
Magnifying ooze  - Fluid
Cyan-blue colored Slime creature living in crystal clear ponds of water. Attaches itself to the host's eyes.
As it is attached to the eyes it captures more light, processing it and sending it to the host's eyes.
It feeds off the tear glands until adulthood. Once adult ooze stays on the eye during sleep, the ooze absorbs the eye and enters through the skull into the brain.
Soplstone - Solid
Brown-white colored slimy mineral, often accumulating on rocky surfaces in rock resembling growths. Becomes part of the organism it comes in contact with, reinforcing the area or structure of contact. Forming stronger appendages or armors.
It feeds upon and replaces the structure it is helping and improving. Until it completely replaces everything in a small area around the point of contact.
After it finishes replacing the material around the area of contact, it separates from the host in smaller versions of itself, leaving behind holes of missing material.
