Gerrad

Gerrad, also known as Gerrad the Great, the Great Island of Lonne and the Prince's Island, is a large island in between the southern extremes of the Bay of Ghosts and the Frostsea. Much of the southern half of the island is frigid permafrost tundra and frozen marshland, and the interior is dominated by Old White Shoulders. As a result, most of the population lives on the north-facing side of the island. Agriculture is limited, but wood is abundant, making Gerrad an important place to the Lonnite way of life.
A journey by boat around the island is a common ritual of adulthood for young Lonnite men, as the journey must be made as a group, it is believed that having to learn to work together fosters kinship and cooperation between the comers-of-age.
