protohumans are hermaphrodite humanoids, but in a simple fleshed-out form, low intelligence, strong body, healthy mind, self-sufficient and capable of regenerating tissue, they also have a high bone density. They have two eyes and can see in the dark. Communication with only single sounds, gestures, and commands. Their hivemind helps with interpretation.

Their gender is fluid, certain organisms change their reproductive identities or adapt the behavior of the opposite sex based on a time-specific need. Some protohumans even have working male and female genitalia.
