The War of the Three Sisters Begins
    Military: War

Prior to Evalyse, the land around the Aurmedian Sea was known as Ethleonis. Little is known about Ethleonis, and scholars often debate the validity of that which is. In part, this is due to the warlike nature of the Ethleonian peoples, who seemed averse to modern techniques for record-keeping, and in part due to the wholesale burning of historical texts and scrolls in the events leading up to the downfall of Ethleonis.   Scholars can agree that the last king of Ethleonis, King Rothar Valdrin, could not sire any sons, yet bore three daughters. By Ethleonian law, none of those daughters could inherit the throne. The eldest daughter felt slighted by her inability to take the throne, and eventually staged a coup. The other sisters, whether through greed, piety, or other motives, resisted their sister's attempt at the throne and instead poised to take it for themselves. This coup, ending in the death of King Rothar Valdrin, sparked what is known today as "The War of the Three Sisters."

The Rise of Athloreon of Evantus
    Life, Achievement/ Win

The War of the Three Sisters was a bloody, uncivilized time period. Wartorn and splintered, the people of Ethleonis suffered and through their bloody fervor, the land suffered as well. Forests and fields burned and rivers turned red with the blood of warriors. Some scholars predict that more was at work to drive these bloody battles to such extremes, but nothing is confirmed.   The war reached a once peaceful island in the middle of the Aurmedian Sea, where a powerful spirit dwelled. It watched and cried out as the land suffered, for it was a strong but peaceful spirit. It sought out a noble-hearted, courageous individual to unify the land and stop the bloodshed. It found Athloreon of Evantus, a proud but even-tempered warleader who sought to unify the scattered peoples of the land.   So it was that a pact was formed with the spirit of the Sacred Isle of Devenir and Athloreon of Evantus. The spirit lead Athloreon to the Lady of the Lake, to which he gave his vows as a knight that he would bring peace to the land. The spirit gave him the power to end the conflict and unify the scattered tribes around the sea.

    The Founding of Evalyse
    Founding

With the power of the Spirit of the Sacred Isle and the Lady of the Lake, Athloreon lead his men across the land surrounding the Aurmedian Sea and subjugated the warlike hordes. His conquest came to an end in 964 EE, when after unifying the peoples, Athloreon shed his former name and became First King, Athloreon di Evalyse.   The Spirit and Athloreon agreed that none could step foot upon the Sacred Isle of Devenir save for the royal family. It was from this Sacred Isle that Athloreon ruled his kingdom, establishing the castle-fortress of Arx Magna Veterus.   Finally, under a new banner, the land could begin to heal and rebuild.

The Formation of the Knights Ardent
    Founding

Through his connection to both the Spirit of the Sacred Isle and the Lady of the Lake, Athloreon established the holy Knights Ardent. These were proud, exceptional men and women who served the King and Evalyse as instruments of peace and war.   Through their vows, given directly to the Lady of the Lake, the Knights Ardent are to this day the only outsiders, beyond the royal family, permitted to step foot upon the Sacred Isle under the Pact of the Kings.

    The Death of King Athloreon
    Life, Death

Though his life was extended via the pact of the isle, Athloreon eventually succumbed to his mortality and died of old age. In his time, he managed to rebuild the land around the Aurmedian Sea into a proper, true kingdom.   He bequeathed his kingdom unto his firstborn son, Ithisdeon di Evalyse.
