Session 19: The Wonderful Lizard of Log

General Summary

With dusk approaching, William Grimhound, Loanedth , Gul'Khaan, and Nil-enor Ulkas enter the filthy sewer system with Ve'dek and her mysterious Fire Spirit. The journey is arduous, with a passage wide enough to allow only one person through at a time. The group come across a basket floating amidst the muck, which Loanedth tries and fails to retrieve. A lizard, caught on a log, falls of and struggles to keep above the murky water. Nil-enor manages to rescue it, but at the cost of his own dignity: he falls in.
Ve'dek, attempting to make conversation, asks William what he plans to do once he rescues U'la. And once again, William proves that he does not plan ahead. The group are forced to leap across the waterway, trying desperately not to wake the large sleeping lizard in the sewer. And when they arrive at the central sewer circle around the keep, Loanedth asks Legendairy Brie to scout ahead. Legendairy refuses, indicating traps up ahead for rats. Loanedth does it himself, and beyond the rat corpses and vast amount of gunpowder set to blow the keep sky-high, finds no guard.
Ve'dek clears the way of guards, and prepares to spend the next few hours keeping an eye out on the escape route. Nil-enor pulls on one of the guards' uniforms, and attempts to blend in. Meanwhile, Loanedth struggles to climb the wall of the great hall, and William and Gul'khaan attempt to throw them. The first attempt goes poorly, but Loanedth manages to latch on with the second, and pulls themself up.
Nil-enor returns to the group, having been called it by another guard, just in time for a patrol to round the corner. With William and Gul'khaan not up onto the roof yet, Nil-enor fakes seeing a person on the castle grounds, and gets the patrol on wild goose chase. Loanedth attempts to help by throwing ball bearing to trip them up, but the guards don't fall. And though William and Gul'khaan do make it to the roof, Nil-enor finds himself at a sword's point.
