The Derrowar are renowned for their hardiness, and their ability to thrive in the harshest environments. They are highly social, and value order and conformity to tradition. Derrowar revere their ancestors almost to the point of worship, and rarely question the authority of their elders. This can often be detrimental when dealing with other races, as even the oldest among them are seen as being too young to be truly respected. Consequently, Derrowar who choose to adventure away from their homeland sometimes have difficulty deferring to the leadership of others.

Anatomy

Derrowar are generally thick-limbed and stout, and shorter on average than most other races. They are exceptionally strong and durable, with tough skin and sturdy bones, and are able to withstand injuries that would prove mortal to others.

Growth Rate & Stages

Derrowar's lifespans are exceeded only by the Elani and the Eldren, and like them, they mature at a slower rate than most other races. Until age 26, Derrowar are considered children, and kept under close supervision by their maternal elders. After this point, they are granted full responsibility over their lives. To determine a Derrowar's equivalent Human age, multiply his own age by 0.5 and add 5 years.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Derrowar prefer the colder climate at the world's far reaches, and make their primary home in the Kingdom of Karphan, high in the mountains at the southern end of Iderica .
