Human

Humans are very nearly defined by a desire to discover and explore. Their cities and villages can be found in all corners of Athalion, and they happily adapt by integrating elements of the other cultures they encounter into their own. They commonly serve as a bridge between the other races, and where diverse groups are found, it is often the Humans who mediate their interaction.

Anatomy

Humans have a diverse range of appearance, and as the most prolific and gregarious race they often intermix with their non-Human neighbors, taking on some of the features of the other races. Skin, hair, and eye color varies widely, as does their physical build. Humans lack the pointed ears of the Elani and Orcai, and their features are more generally rounder than their distant kin.

Biological Traits

As the standard reference against which the other races are measured, Humans have no bonuses or maluses to any of their Abilities.

Growth Rate & Stages

Humans are fully grown by age 20, and are most prolific until they reach about 70, at which time they are considered old-aged.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Though common nearly everywhere across the world, Humans' primary home is the Kingdom of Balmor , in the hills and farmlands of central Caradon .

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Humans see themselves as skilled mediators between the other civilized races, and enjoy what they consider the game of diplomacy. They prefer to believe that they are loved by all, making them often susceptible to manipulation. They are under constant threat from the vengeful undead forces of the Withered Marches, though their greatest enemies are often others of their own kind.
