Eldren

Delvers of the Dark Reaches

A close relative of the Elani, the Eldren long ago retreated below the damp, cold surface of their homeland, populating the deep reaches of the world. Their magnificent kingdom stretches for endless miles through gilded vaults and galleries beneath the land, where they rule a civilization rivaled only by their surface-dwelling kin. Most avoid leaving their subterranean realm, but those who do are often the more broad-minded and tolerant of their kind.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Generally similar in appearance to their Elani cousins, Eldren have graceful, angular features, with long pointed ears and wide almond eyes. They are primarily distinguished by skin tones in all ranges of blue and violet, and light-colored hair of silver, blue, or even pale pink. Their eyes are most often blood red, or rarely yellow-gold, and they possess unusually large irises to aid with vision in their subterranean realm. They are almost always slightly-built, and rarely reach six feet tall.

Growth Rate & Stages

Like the Elani, the Eldren are long-lived, and mature at a slower pace than most other races. An Eldren's equivalent Human age can be calculated by multiplying his age by 0.25 and adding 10 years. For example, an Eldren at age 100 is comparable to a Human at age 35. They are considered fully mature at around 24, but not thought to be of advanced age until at least 240.

The Eldren live primarily in their vast subterranean Kingdom at the western end of Valdaria , well-protected from the inhospitable climate above them.
