sII: The High Road to Hommlet
General Summary
After traveling for many days, the group of 4 would travel through one of the many ravines utilized by the High Road as it goes through the Kron Hills. It was in one of these ravines that the group would encounter a pair of panthers! Being forced to either turn around and find a way around the ravine path or try and sneak forwards, it was the party's Warlock, Kiln, who decided to attempt to sneak forward. Failing, however, as he tripped on a rock, the two panthers were alerted to the group, and feeling their home threatened attacked to defend themselves and their home. The two panthers were dispatched quickly by the party ranger and cleric, not allowing a chance to even think about escape for the two wild animals.
A Cry for Help!
As the party neared just hours from Hommlet, they heard the cry of a man coming towards them screaming for help! Behind him were two dogs and two men wearing red bandit rags out of their pockets. Arming for battle, the man pleaded with the party for their help, giving them a potion before the men and their dogs arrived. Thankful upon the death of the bandits, the person revealed himself to be Spugnoir the local alchemist of Hommlet. Thankful for his rescue, he offered the group a payment, but only once he was returned safely to his shop.Escorting Spugnoir
The travel into Hommlet after encountering the alchemist was calm with not much of note happening. Arriving at the alchemist shop, the party realized they were still far too broke to afford anything fancy, and decided to go to the local keep to inquire for more work.The Tainted Meat
After arriving at the keep, the party met Rufus, one of the local Lords of Hommlet. As rumor had it, a local kitchen, ran by a woman by the name Telna has caused some people to fall sick recently. Rufus believes that because the meat is all supposedly traded for as it comes into town, as opposed to buying local livestock, that this traveled meat could be the cause of the sickness.Kidnapping!
As Bitty, Pip, and Eduardo found comfort at the Inn of the Welcome Wench recommended by Spugnoir. Kiln, alone in his investigation, met Telna after hours, and upon confronting her, was able to get access into the back room. Seeing this as her chance, the magic-user Telna followed the Halfling into the cold room, and ambushed him with a sleep spell! Successful, Telna moved him to a secret location in town during the cover of night.Rewards Granted
