Scope
The motivation behind building Asylum
The world of Sanctuary is much like the world of modern reality in that it is governed by the fundemental laws of physics and nature, populated by people of many origins and nations, and is a planet which rotates around a single sun.
Where things differ is that Sanctuary is set in a Medieval age where indoor plumbing is limited to cities and vehicles are few and far between, most people choosing to use a horse and cart or just their own two feet.
Major cities and towns have are ruled over by the likes of kings and other governmental officials of varying reputations and classes.
Society is setup into a simple 3-tier class system. The lower-class contains families that work the land as farmers and fishermen. The middle-class work as merchants and tradesmen. And the upper-class is full of the aristocracy, politicians and those who retain and maintain military forces.
A final classless group of people are those of the various religions popular among their respective continents.
The goal of the project
To sow a tale of tragedies, hope, progress through adversity and adventure.
