Specter
Specter is the name given by Yrisiel Gloryheart to the system to which it is believed abducted people are being taken. Little is known about this system because it is immune to sensors and scrying and as such doesn't even appear to exist from a distance.

The Specter system is coterminous with another universe: that of the Atanar. The two universes are slightly out of phase, which means that it doesn't allow light to reach into our universe, and only by physically moving into the system do we become able to perceive it. Only specialized vehicles can leave the system and reach our universe, which they do via the artificial satellite orbiting the planet.
The atanar universe has begun collapsing in a 'big crunch'. To prevent this, the vast majority of the mana in that universe is being used to freeze time in all but a few inhabited regions. This means that the whole region fells somewhat 'sluggish' in terms of mana. The gateway between universes functions as a soul vortex; like a succubus, soul-eater, or other demons with the capability of consuming souls, it's drawing them in. If anything dies too close the gateway, there's a chance their soul won't be able to fight the current and will be drawn into it.
The system's planet, called NU-01 by the atanar, appears to be a terraforming experiment and has a handful of laboratories. There are domed structures near the laboratories which appear to be used to adapt plant and animal life to the planet. The native vegetation is a purple-blue color and rather spiky, growing from rocky, pale brownish-gray soil.
The artificial 'moon' maintains the connection between universes. It is reached by orbital elevators and has over five hundred leviathan class ships docked. A field around the moon extends some ten kilometers out and counters the mana stasis elsewhere in the system.
Once the gate between universes was closed, the Specter system disappeared from our universe.
