Aramore Settlement in Astraeus Zephyrus | World Anvil

Aramore

"If you really want to know Zantyran food, you go to Aramore. I once spent six months there attempting to record their recipes only to realize that such a thing does not exist for these people. They season things until 'it feels good,' using no consistant system of measurements and yet manage to still serve the best and most consistantly satisfying food."
— K'Vettis, Desmodon artist and frustrated scribe
The village of Aramore, on the southern edge of the Jungle of Zant was originally a Hypsignathan settlement until the Praetorim were invited in. The village has always been considered one of the friendliest places to visit on Zantyra. The Hypsig are a naturally friendly group whose primary focus in life is on food and, especially, fruit desserts. Aramore was their first formal village and was primarily built to allow the Hypsig to share their food creations with one another. The village has grown exponentially in recent years, especially with more Praetorim moving into the area. While their new neighbors are not as focused on food, the Praetorim have most certainly added to the variety of cuisine available to sample.   The village itself started as a small circle of homes that each contained large kitchens. These kitchens were made publicly available and the homes were packed with people preparing their trademark dishes. As time moved on, the circle has expanded outward in several more rings of home-based kitchens as well as the first indoor communal dining rooms to accommodate patrons during poor weather. The rings and restaurants continued to expand into the Cuisine Plaza that is very popular today and features the sweet desserts of the Hypsig and Savory dinners of the Praetorim.
