Physical Description
General Physical Condition
His body gives off an ambient heat which can burn an individual who is not immune to fire. Garyx feeds on heat, consuming the lava from his volcano home and the ambient radiation from the sun.
Body Features
His scales are a deep red in color with a smooth, dull finish. When Garyx uses his fire breath, his scales are light up from the inside, making him look as if he swallowed a small sun. His neck frill and wings are an ash-blue towards the edges, dark with his age. His eyes resemble molten lava orbs.
Special abilities
As an ancient red dragon, he has a scorching fire breath. As a dragonlord, he is a powerful sorcerer.

Biologically, Garyx is as genderfluid as any dragon, though he typically favors male (he/him) pronouns.
Sexuality
He has mated with male drakes, female lindwurm, and wyverns of any sex. Though some of his draconic kin may favor sexual relations with humanoids, he finds such congress unappealing.
Morality & Philosophy
Garyx rules the Cordillera with finely honed fear and threat. He does not trust humanoids to keep their word or peace—their society has betrayed him beyond tolerance. He will never strike first; but when provoked, he retaliates without mercy.

Dragonlord Garyx no longer controls any specific humanoid settlement; however, he does inhabit and defend the Hellmouth, an enormous volcano nestled within the Cordillera. The base of the volcano serves as a headquarters for his acolytes, the Order of the Firebrand. They are his agents among the nations who carry out his will. The acolytes are marked by their distinctive red cloaks, metallic dragon masks, and the nominal brand they carry on their bodies. His favored chosen are given gifts of fire-enchanted weapons and items.
He once had strong ties with the high elven metropolis Spire. King Sotiris committed a grave betrayal against him, and in turn the Firebrand razed the entire city to ashes. The knowledge of the king's treachery died with him.
Family Ties
His geographically closest kin is Astilabor. While their territories do not overlap, they have been known to share a tentative peace between each other. Garyx's agents have free reign to operate within Sylvanmere as long as they obey the laws of the land. Where Garyx is a force of destruction, Astilabor is associated with creation.
Of his harem, his favorite mate is known to be Sardior, a level-headed red drake. He has six other mates besides who either reside in his lair or have territories overlapping his own.
