Protectorate

The Protectorate are city sponsored heroes that swear an oath to defend Libertas. The organization was originally founded by Quentin Platinumheart and Lady Erethea of the Scale Slayers when the city was founded. Only those invited can become members of the Protectorate, and those invited are usually elite adventurers or heroes. If the Senate has a problem that can't be handled by diplomats or city's regular armed forces, then they ask the Protectorate. The Protectorate is often seen as a last resort as chaos usually follows in their wake.
Currently the Protectorate are led by Lady Platinumheart from their headquarters in the Senate Ward. Recently, the Golden Path had spies within the organization, but thanks to the Libertas Heroes, the corruption has been rooted out.

Ranks

1. Ward: entry rank and rank of most members of the Protectorate
2. Shield: prominent members of the organization that often served in leadership roles
3. Defender: highest echelon of the Protectorate with very few currently at this rank
