Origin and Brief History

Quickstall is a small, remote town situated on the outskirts of Carinthian territory in Halinor. Its origin dates back to a time when Halinor was still a land of scattered settlements, and travelers needed a final respite before braving the harsh and frigid lands of Carinthia. The town earned its name from the rapid halt many made here before journeying into the cold.
The town, nestled in front of a vast expanse of snow-covered forest, was initially a humble outpost. It was established by hardy pioneers who recognized the strategic importance of its location as a gateway to Carinthia. Over the years, Quickstall grew, with traders, explorers, and adventurers making it their final stop before venturing deeper into the north. However since Carinthia’s isolation has grown over the years, Quickstall has reverted back to its humble beginnings. It is now a place for a brief respite for traders making their routes to Carinthia as well as the guides who escort them through the dense snowy forest.

Appearance

Quickstall has a rustic charm that contrasts starkly with the icy wilderness surrounding it. The town is characterized by sturdy log cabins with steep, snow-shedding roofs. These buildings are closely clustered, huddled together for warmth and protection against the biting cold. Smoke from chimneys mingles with the perpetual frosty air, creating a misty, ethereal ambiance.
A central marketplace, encircled by wooden stalls and lit by flickering lanterns, serves as the heart of Quickstall. Here, traders from both southern Halinor and Carinthia exchange goods, and the town's residents gather to share stories and news. A prominent inn, known as the Frostwarden Lodge, provides lodging and meals for weary travelers.
