The Four Moons of Asperia
The Moon above Asperia is known for having four distinct phases, each associated with prophecy and the divine spheres.
The first and greatest, albeit least common, of the moons is the Aelen, the Bright Moon. Aelen shines down upon the most righteous of souls and is often seen as a harbinger of good times and prosperity, or hope during the bad times.
The second moon, known as the common moon, is Jiun, the Watching Moon. Jiun is the moon of waiting, and often is interpreted as a symbol of status quo and balance.
The third moon is the "sorrow moon", Ilum, the Red Moon or Blood Moon. Only rising after days of extreme bloodshed, Ilum protects the souls of the slain as they travel into the afterlife and brings solace to those who mourn for the fallen.
The final moon is Morsleib, the Dark Moon. Morsleib is an omen of chaos, war, and destruction. It's rising marks the last days of prosperity before famine, plague, war, and the waves of the demoniacs. Those who hearken in the end times pray to their dark masters for the rising of Morsleib, and all the righteous pray that there may be one more day without it's sickly pallor.
