Legendary Artifacts of Asperia
Magical items appear throughout Asperia's history wielded by famed heroes and brutal warlords. While many hold some relevance only to the peoples that it originated in (such as the Scales of Ogerton), many are held with renown throughout the world for their power, both known, and purported. These are some of those such items.
The Holy Grail
No one knows if the Grail actually exists, but belief in it can trace it's origin to the waning days of the Theomachy. The Grail is said to have been a gift by one (or more) of the Thalador to the mortal races, as a means to create powerful defenders and wise kings against the threat of annihilation. Which of the gods gave it is a point of contention, the Imperial Pantheon holds that it was Lleu Llaw Gyffes himself, in Middhold it is attributed to Teutates, in the Anarak it is Moradin, and to the elves it is either Corellon, Sucellus, Sirona, or some combination of all three. All that is known is that for generations questing knights have searched for it to no avail, and yet the quest continues on. The Crown of the Akharien
Forged as the crown of the Emperor of the Reikvaldt, the Crown of the Akharien was blessed annually by the priests of the Thalador to protect and guide the Emperor. These blessings did not, however, prevent the crown from disappearing nearly six-centuries ago when it vanished from the royal vaults beneath the Citadel Metropolis. According to the legends that have developed around it, the Crown will only be found when the true heir of Alagaros returns at the waning of the age, where he will take his place as the final Emperor, when the age of peace ends, and the end times begin. Ghal Maraz, The Warhammer
Gifted to Emperor Antonidus I Torm during the First Wave by the goddess Cathubodua, and wielded by the Emperor for centuries, Ghal Maraz disappeared during the Fourth Wave alongside it's bearer, Emperor Caranor and the entirety of the XIV Legion. The Hammer is said to hold the power of the Nephelim within it, to protect the bearer against all manner of threats, and to smite the unworthy with divine furor. Rumors abound that Ghal Maraz will return to the Emperor in the hour of greatest need. The Amulet of the White Wolf
Originally worn by Anorien, the first of the White Wolves, the Amulet of the White Wolf has been handed down for seventeen generations among the rulers of Skyhold. This ancient artifact is said to give the wearer unnaturally high stamina and endurance, allowing them to cross many leagues to protect their people. Ashbinder
The sword of the First Knight of the Reiksguard, Ashbinder has served it's masters for more than six-centuries in their service to their god, the Emperor and the Empire Storm Reaver
An ancient and phenomenally powerful sword fashioned by unknown hands for the First Lords of Lineria, Storm Reaver was most famously wielded by the High Elven mage-general Elius during the Fifth Wave. When he stood alone against the untold hordes of evil, and single handedly held the Iron Gate of Lineria for seven hours. In more modern times, the Lords of Lineria do not see battles personally, and thus Storm Reaver has spent nearly two centuries unused.
