Sons of Sabris
The Sons of Sabris are a band of individuals with a singular purpose; enforcing the will of Sabris, the goddess of Death. While Sabris herself is more usually followed by those of Evil alignment, the Sons are made up of people of many alignments, but have a strict dedication to do what they feel is the prime directive given to man from Sabris; upholding the sanctity of death, no matter the cost.
Above all, the biggest abomination to the Sons of Sabris is necromancy, and the undead themselves are seen as the Son's sworn enemies. They take great pride in their abilities to destroy the foul creatures and those who would propagate the damnable practice. Recently though, they’ve added a new enemy to their list. The Automata.
These anathema are among the most perverse, detestable creations imaginable in the eyes of Sabris. Through the foul practice of soulforging, the Automata are brought to life as grotesque imposters of man; beings crafted from mundane materials and the soul of one who has already passed on.
The twisted art of using souls as a medium for crafting, soulforging is an even more damnable practice than necromancy. Those who practice soulforging pull the souls of the recently deceased from the Abyss, those who have yet to be judged, and force their consciousness into physical objects; be they a simulacra of man or a dinner table. The items the souls are placed into may differ, but they all share a similar component; a Blood Iron core, carved with ancient, unholy runes. The core itself is what houses the soul, and is also the key to truly undoing the foul magics that have bound the soul back to this plane. If the core is destroyed, the soul is sent back to Sabris where it belongs.
