Vera Mornou
Vera Mornou is a woman in her older years who runs the 1960s themed diner in Ashton Creek. She has lived in the town for most of her life, though her parents were originally from Canada. Despite being unmarried and having no children, Vera is not lonely, as she is well known and well-liked around the town. She is a friendly and outgoing person, who is always ready to lend an ear.
Vera has a good relationship with her two employees, Nancy Sykes and Martin Taylor. She tends the bar and manages the restaurant, while Sykes waits on tables and Taylor works in the kitchen. She does feel like she is understaffed and may soon hire additional help. As she approaches her late 60s, she is starting to contemplate retirement options.
In her spare time, Vera enjoys gardening and spending time with her friends and neighbors. She is an active member of the Ashton Creek community; organising meetups, contributing to town events, and otherwise helping out where she is needed.
