Ashton Creek

Ashton Creek is a small, sleepy, first sector town in the north of Oregon, USA. It lies in a forested valley, and is home to around 6'800 unsuspecting inhabitants. It is fairly unknown the world at large, other than appearing in the news in 2003 when the Smithson Mining operations suffered a structural failure which led to the death of 8 workers alongside numerous injured and the mines being closed. There was also that TV commercial promoting a local spa.

Some know of it, of course. It does have a rather lovely town centre and a number of hiking trails, so visitors do come.

Perhaps you are one of these, just passing through. There is something about this small town though, something lurking beneath its well kept sidewalks and rows of lawns in the suburbs. Something hides in the woods, in shadowed basements throughout the town. Everyone here seems to know more than they're letting on... Maybe you should stay a little longer, find out a little more?
