For he is the one who brings the end. For he is the one who devoured the Sun. Gods save us all."The One Who Devoured the Sun, or The Devourer, is an Ancient Obsidian dragon. Mostly known by his title, acclaimed by horrific displays of power. Those who remember him only know that his flames were bright enough to overpower sunlight and make it appear as if the last thing you saw was the pitch-black sky and torrent of flames that followed and spelled your end. For what is currently known, Devourer was alive during the ancient times when dragons freely roamed Ashirma-until they weren't. Attacked and killed for glory by ambitious hunters. Desiring to oppose this, he declared war against the hunters to free his kind. Slowly growing a reputation in battle, he remained alive long enough to begin his ascent into godhood. Only to fail for the first time due to his own arrogance, where after party after party of adventurers fell by his flames-he was eventually slain and sealed away. Like a twisted prophecy, every thousand or so years Devourer returns. Revived by some ignorant mind or one who has the arrogance to think they can control the dragon. Only for the cycle to repeat, and the world is set ablaze and he is eventually, barely killed once more. Now it is time for his return. Pray that he be defeated once again, lest the world be engulfed in dragon fire.
