Prestige Classes

gaining a level in a prestige class is different in ashieldr in terms of rules, it maintains the need for requirements in terms of a proficiency, race or class, but instead of multiclassing for the features you instead do the following, there are 5 levels of every prestige class, whenever you gain an ability score increase you can choose to spend the necessary downtime to train with the necessary mentor and gain a level in the prestige class.

If you gain access to a prestige class you can retroactively use your ability score increases for the class levels, losing the benefit of the prior usage of the ASI
