The Rioran Calendar

When the world was Broken and the great Chaos Storm still raged, the various groups of survivors the world over were not only separated by space, but also time as well. Some groups had spent hundreds of years, others thousands, while others still only a few decades. Time had been broken as well. Only once the Chaos Storm was ended could Rioris, the God of Time, put it back together again. Afterwards, in order to ensure less confusion and problems with the various races, he created the Rioran Calendar and gifted it to the world as the universal method of keeping track of the days and months.   Months of the Year   Beras – The first month of the year and when winter begins to take hold in the world. This month has 28 days in it, two fortnights.   Yshras – The second month of the year and the heart of winter. This month has 42 days in it, three fortnights.   Muras – The third month of the year and when winter begins to make its way into spring. This month has 28 days in it, two fortnights.   Karas – The fourth month of the year and when spring begins to take hold in the world. This month has 28 days in it, two fortnights.   Seras – The fifth month of the year and the heart of spring. This month has 42 days in it, three fortnights.   Xistas – The sixth month of the year and when spring begins to make its way into summer. This month has 28 days in it, two fortnights.   Zolas – The seventh month of the year and when summer begins to take hold in the world. This month has 28 days in it, two fortnights.   Runas – The eighth month of the year and the heart of summer. This month has 42 days in it, three fortnights.   Arcas – The ninth month of the year and when summer begins to make its way into autumn. This month has 28 days in it, two fortnights.   Estas – The tenth month of the year and when autumn begins to take hold in the world. This month has 28 days in it, two fortnights.   Navas – The eleventh month of the year and the heart of autumn. This month has 42 days in it, three fortnights.   Cendas – The twelfth month of the year and when autumn begins to make its way into winter. This month has 28 days in it, two fortnights.     Days of the Fortnight   Weaver’s Day – The first day of a fortnight and traditionally known as a good day for planning or implementing plans, beginning projects. (This day will always land on the 1st, 15th or 29th of a month.)   Chaos Day – The second day of a fortnight and traditionally known as a day to expect unexpected occurrences, also known as a day to try new things. (This day will always land on the 2nd, 16th or 30th of a month.)   Order’s Day – The third day of a fortnight and traditionally known as a day which will benefit you from following the rules, making good on plans or promises. (This day will always land on the 3rd, 17th or 31st of a month.)   Balance Day – The fourth day of a fortnight and traditionally known as a day of moderation, of performing acts to help redress an imbalance, also known as a good day for accountants. (This day will always land on the 4th, 18th or 32nd of a month.)   Nature’s Day – The fifth day of a fortnight and traditionally known as a good day to plant or harvest crops or to tend to gardens. Druids often perform rituals on this day. (This day will always land on the 5th, 19th or 33rd of a month.)   Life’s Day – The sixth day of a fortnight and traditionally known as an auspicious day to be born on, or to try and conceive a child on. (This day will always land on the 6th, 20th or 34th of a month.)   Death’s Day – The seventh day of a fortnight and traditionally known as an inauspicious day to be born on. Most businesses are not open on this day and funerals are often held on this day, if possible. (This day will always land on the 7th, 21st or 35th of a month.)   Sun’s Day – The eighth day of a fortnight and traditionally known as an auspicious day to tackle great problems or obstacles. (This day will always land on the 8th, 22nd or 36th of a month.)   Moons’ Day – The ninth day of a fortnight and traditionally known as a good day to keep secrets or to hide things. (This day will always land on the 9th, 23rd or 37th of a month.)   Magic’s Day – The tenth day of a fortnight and traditionally known as a good day for study and introspection. (This day will always land on the 10th, 24th or 38th of a month.)   Smith’s Day – The eleventh day of a fortnight and traditionally known as an auspicious day to either begin or finish a creation. (This day will always land on the 11th, 25th or 39th of a month.)   Fate’s Day – The twelfth day of a fortnight and traditionally known as an auspicious day for meetings, either planned or seemingly random. (This day will always land on the 12th, 26th or 40th of a month.)   Chance’s Day – The thirteenth day of a fortnight and traditionally known both as an auspicious and inauspicious day for gambling or taking risks. (This day will always land on the 13th, 27th or 41st of a month.)   Eater’s Day – The fourteenth day of a fortnight and traditionally known as an auspicious day for ending things, be they partnerships or marriages. (This day will always land on the 14th, 28th or 42nd of a month.)
