The Discordant Legion
The Legion is a mercenary group that has a reputation for being unpredictable. This is not unwarranted as the Legion seems to have as its patron deity none other than Berana, The God of Chaos. There are barracks of the Legion set up in multiple lands, though obviously not on Ordina, but the Legion’s main headquarters is located on Muria within Beran Keep in The Bastion. The Legion will accept anyone into their ranks, no questions asked. All applicants are evaluated and placed with a unit that their skills will be of use to. The Legion will take contracts for work, any work from guard duty to being soldiers in a war all the way to helping to cause havoc and mayhem in a country or city all the way to murder and terrorist style attacks. All that matters to the Legion is that they get paid. As they are patrons of Berana, however, just because you’ve bought them doesn’t mean they’ll stay bought. Those who have contracted the Legion are just as likely to have them take their money and also take more money from their rivals to turn on them as they are to having them uphold the contract in good standing. There is also no such thing as true loyalty to the Legion. Units have found themselves hired out to someone only to find other units from the Legion hired out to their employer’s enemies. The only thing that keeps people going back to them time and time again is the fact that when they do uphold their contract, they tend to deliver on the terms and then some.
