Effect

When hit by an elemental attack (fire, cold, lightning, acid, or thunder), absorb the energy into a shield and redirect it as a beam of the same element, dealing damage equal to the absorbed attack. Make a ranged spell attack against a target within 60 feet. On a hit, the beam deals the absorbed damage.

Upcast (4th or higher):
Absorb the energy into Elemental Marbles for later use. For each level above 3rd, create one marble (1 for 4th level, 2 for 5th level, etc.). You can store and use the marbles later. Throw them as ranged attacks to cause an explosion of the absorbed elemental damage in a 10-foot radius. DC = 8 + proficiency bonus + spellcasting modifier for half damage.

Requirements:

• You must know the Shield spell.
• You must know Absorb Elements or an attack spell of the element you wish to Synthesize

Limitations:

• One marble for 4th-level slots, two marbles for 5th-level slots, etc.
• Marbles must be used within 24 hours, or they detonate automatically, dealing the stored elemental damage in a 10-foot radius.

Discovery

• Laura Green, created this spell during an inspired manic frenzy against an enemy.
• She initially refused to share this spell until she was persuaded by Wayland personally.
