Ashain, The Iron Valley
Ashain
[ʌʃ.ˈeɪn]
About the World
The
Iron Valley is a bit of a paradox. People there espouse the virtues of the slow life. They resist the hustle of the Big City. They enjoy their quiet evenings with friends and celebrating community with neighbors. But at the same time, there never seems to be enough time to get everything done. There are always more crops to plant or harvest, more fences to build or mend, and the chickens won't feed themselves.
To the north, across the
Cobbled Stream is the vast
Forest of Gems where mischevious Fae are said to roam and crystaline Gem Bats hunt insects in the night.
To the east is the expansive Glittering Ocean, full of fish and adventure.
South is the Laughing Swamp where the toads' song sounds like the laughter of children and the glisten of the Manasilk Worm's thread tempts many off the bridge through the mud.
And to the west are the Sunset Mountains. Blinking Goats make their home among these peaks, teleporting from crag to rock in search of grass to eat. One can tame the creatures with time, but take care that they don't blink away with your load of stone or ore.
Many other secrets fill the areas around the Iron Valley, but most residents don't fret overmuch with such things. After all, they have everything they need: good food, warm fires, and community.
About the Game
In this first incarnation, this world is the setting of my playthrough of the
Iron Valley RPG starring Theodric. Although Iron Valley isn't expressly intended to be a journaling game, I am playing it as one and will be writing a journal here on World Anvil. I am currently using Prose articles to accomplish this, but if I find a better way to do it, I may change over in the future.
