Nymphs
Nymphs, often confused for Elves or Fairies with a taste for certain types of nature, are guardians of nature. They can appear in the form of humanoids with oddly-colored skin, but that’s usually only in the worst cases, when some grievous offense has occurred - if you’re practicing archery in the forest and you suddenly see a woman with green skin, green hair, green robes, and a scowl, you’ve most certainly done something wrong. Nymphs are often kind, but territorial, and not very trusting towards most other creatures, save for elves and sprites, when it comes to their habitats. Most of the time, when you pass by a nymph in their natural habitat, you won’t even notice; they’ll often take the form of whatever they’re protecting, like a tree or a part of their stream, and if you don’t happen to offend them or encroach on their territory, they’ll most likely leave you be. Nymphs can be very shy, but, again, this comes from a long history of other humanoids not being very trustworthy. However, they won’t hesitate to put you in their place if need be. They are forces of nature; never forget this.
