CREDITS

The Capital Repository Energy Device and Instant Transmit System is a small stick capable of holding a digital currency often shortened to "Credits". This is the standard method of currency found throughout the galaxy. While various governments have tried to setup their own currency system, all have abandoned them in favor of simply using the CREDITS system. Its inherent security and longevity, decentralized nature as well as its ubiquitousness has kept it as the dominant currency for a millennia.

Kustan Intergalactic UPD

These devices are capable of utilizing UPB (universal polymer base) and other special resources to produce a variety of parts for products. They come standard with a variety of blueprints, and are capable of being uploaded with user-created and aftermarket designs. There are regulations and fail safes built in to limit certain products from being created, but some illegal modifications exist to jailbreak them and allow production of anything uploaded
The crafting itself is not completely automatic, and requires a skilled user in order to operate and often assemble the product. Larger facilities contain the same units except modified into an assembly line for rapid production.

UPB

A universal polymer base, or UPB, is the basis for most technology in the Universe. Each UPB is a tiny multifunction component, not much larger than a grain of rice, capable of being configured to act as a brace, capacitor, circuit, diode, fastener, insulator, lens, modulator, pipe, resistor, and dozens of other constituent parts. UPBs can even be spun out into fabric, broken down into component chemicals, reconstituted into new chemicals, or supplemented with base materials (such as dirt or sand) to form massive braces or walls. The right combination of hundreds or even thousands of UPBs can create everything from a comm unit to a laser weapon to powered armor.
UPBs are so ubiquitous that they are usable as currency in many major settlements and trade hubs. While CREDITS are a more convenient and secure way to carry value, UPBs have the advantage of direct utility and untraceability. They are a popular way to pay smugglers and criminals, but they are also useful for trade missions to systems with UPB technology that don’t use credits as currency. The value of the credit is based on the economic utility of a single UPB.
UPB's generally hold no energy, which are stored in Batteries. They require a significant amount of power and technological manipulation to rearrange, something that is almost never found outside of the Kustan Intergalactic UPD. The ability to manipulate a UPB is one of the most complicated tasks a machine can function, and is almost exclusively something that is performed by a UPD.

Battery Cells

The three different types of battery cells are as follows:
Small (S): These cells are for smaller items such as weapons.
Price: 2 Credits.
Weight: 1 lb.
Medium (M): These cells power ground and air vehicles, and larger equipment.
Price: 10 Credits
Weight: 0.25 lb.
High (H): These cells are large, powerful, and usually reserved for huge weapons and massive energy equipment such as spacecraft.
Price: 40 credits.
Weight: 2 lbs.
