The Assassination of Eloise IV

Life, Death

1287

The Kingdom plunges into Chaos

Eloise IV had been on the throne for a few years, and continued her predecessors efforts to suppress revolution and rioting in the west with violent force. This came back to bite her when a group of several westerners travelled to mainland Divinice and broke into the Imperial Palace to poison her food. Later that week, Eloise IV became violently ill and passed away. When initial concerns of an outbreak subsided, an investigation was launched by her successor, Roshni II. Only one of the suspected seven poisoners was ever found, and no information was gained. Coincidentally, Roshni II died of a suspicious illness in 1290, though no solid link connected her death to Eloise IV's.
