Twila I's First Cousin Once Removed - The Pretender King

Twila left no heirs, and she had no younger siblings. So the crown fell to her cousin's oldest child, Caelum VI. History looks poorly upon this man, for he oversaw the death of the Kingdom and the Ascension of the Empire. His right to succeed Twila was challenged by many humans due to him being from the east, and many Maidens due to their belief that they should succeed Twila instead. While he managed to win over most humans and many Stolisi (maiden or no), many maidens still disagreed. And so, he became involved in a protracted civil war, with the opposition led by Azure I. In 1004, he was forced to flee to his homeland with his wife and young daughter, signalling the end of the Kingdom and the start of the Empire. Many of his descendants and more distant descendants of the crown have attempted to overthrow the Empire, with limited success.
