The Lost City of K'thark

The Lost City of K'thark is an enigma to most. It has never been accessed by human means, as it lies roughly two hundred metres below the surface of the Ocean Below, as well as its exact location being rumoured to be migratory with the tides. The Carcernatorum Watch claims the latter to be ridiculous and false, but sailors native to Carce will avoid certain fishing routes with each passing season; K'tharkians are known to be territorial above their home waters.

Defences

The Ocean Below itself is a vast obstacle between K'Thark and any invaders. K'tharkians themselves have evolved to adapt to both the pressure of the deeper seas and the predators that exist within it. Often K'Tharkians are capable of even swimming alongside some of the most hostile creatures found in the Sunken Cities, though how they do so is kept secret.

Infrastructure

Most records of the structure of K'Thark is hidden under lock and key by the Wardens. Each document that does exist tends to contradict the other; some claim that the city is a ruin, a sunken city sunk far too low, others claim the city is formed from coral atop the back of a giant turtle. Some even claim K'thark doesn't exist at all, and K'Tharkians are simply migratory themselves and claim their city exists in whichever part of the ocean has better hunting grounds.

History

Until recently, K'Tharkians were treated with a high level of animosity. During the initial establishment of the mining outpost on The Carcernatorum, their war with the The Hives expanded into warfare with the reigning BreachKing themselves. Blood was spilt on both sides -- vast hunting fleets wiping out a large portion of the K'Tharkian population and fishermen terrorised and torn apart in what was later referred to as the Unspoken War. It was only acknowledged once in writing when Breach-King Jakobi established a treaty between the Hives and K'Thark; wherein the K'Tharkians were granted access to the city provided local sailors could fish freely.     Despite the treaty, blood is often still spilt between sides in minor disagreements. The rights of a K'Tharkian in a Sunken City is minimal, and they're taught by family members or experiences that the war has not quite ended in the majorities' eyes.
