Arcane Blade

Is it a warrior? No. Is it a wizard? No. Then what is it? It both. A wizard with sword skills, plus it can wield magic through the blade when necessary. The Arcane Blade or Spell Blade in common tongue. They are not truly heavy in any of the two skill lines, but rather have a nice balance of the two. Their blades may look like normal blades of the region, but in closer inspection. the blade is actually a rare medal or bone of a tooth of a dragon, usually and adult to elder. the older the better. The blades are forged by the spell blades. They collect the medal or bone, and they know more about their blade than anyone else. Making them truly attuned to the sword.

Career

Qualifications

The strength and psyche must stay close in balance as much as the mind and body must be truly mastered and in fine peak condition. Endurance, combat focus a specialty of the endurance skill which adds the ability to cast while being hit in combat. This can also be used to keep swinging even after many would have been too tired to keep fighting.

Perception

Purpose

They tend to be bodyguards to nobles. They are also used in many bloody wars.  In an adventure group they great in battles in dark ruins or underground dungeons. Some may have military background and are great leaders. If they're bodyguards and went out adventuring they make great frontal warriors.

Social Status

This depends on the country. In Vostoria they are highly paid as bodyguards and in war they war blades. In Al' Mech men and ONLY men can be Arcane blades.

Demographics

Only six countries have Arcane blades, each with their own combat styles and rules and laws of being and becoming an Arcane Blade.

History

During the Risen war they were used on both sides and when more, races like the Lurkins and the Elysorri Elves became Arcane Blades which pushed and pushed the Shilen back to their borders.

Discipline D8:

"Fell my blade."- d8 effect allows elemental or arcane damage to be used instead of the physical sword damage. Spend a plot point to add and addition damage when a saucerful hit lands. Hinder d4 effect and gain a plot point. using the d4 as the above is written for the d8 instead.
"Just a little bit of magic..." can create a d8 asset in this scene. A glowing fist to see in the dark, using Mysticism skill to repair the spell blade's sword, a d8 element resistance. A quicken step to add 2 more increments to the normal 1 increment movement. (45 ft movement in the round of combat or scene out of combat.)
Attuned to the Blade- Their personal sword, their souls, sweat and blood is in the medal of their blades. Taking this in the game by going on the quest to make your personal sword, thus making it a signature asset. A creation this is up to you and the level of the Campaign you are playing in. if low it will be a d6 or d8. If high, it a d10 or d12. d8-step your fight skill to your fight skill when using that sword. Step down your fight skill gain plot point when lowering this talent.

Adding or Learning spells:

The Arcane blade can learn spells. But it slightly different for them. The player see the mana cost of the spell. The die level is the difficulty of the spell to learn.
