Hanging Tent

A hanging tent is a small tent with a teardrop shape, which hangs from a sturdy anchor rope. The rope can be tied to a tree limb, grappling hook, or even a piton hammered into a cliff side. Climbing out of or into a hanging tent requires half your movement and a DC 10 Dexterity (acrobatics) check. Failure means you fail to get out of the tent, while failing by five or more means you fall from the tent.   A hanging tent holds one medium creature.
Hanging tents are most frequently used in places where flat or stable ground is hard to find. High mountains, deep caves often feature shear cliff faces that can take days to traverse. With no flat ground to be found, hanging tents offer a viable solution. Dwarves, drow, and other underground dwelling creatures make regular use of such shelters. Likewise, those who frequent swampy areas, where much of the ground is partially or fully submerged, find making use of hanging tents prudent. The Elves and Firbolg of the night woods also make use of such tents when traveling the winding paths of the high canopies of titan trees.    In other respects, the design of hanging tents generally follow the trends of standard tents with regards to those who craft them.
