The Mage's Guild

Structure

The Mage's Guild is split across 3 main branches; the Royal College in Empala (run by Merrelwyn), the Arcadia branch (run by Zotiere the Wise) and the Arcanelle branch (run by Exeor the Mad). The Royal College deals mainly in educating new members of the Guild and political affairs specifically involving the king. The Arcadia branch consists of the majority of the members, specialising in research and the development of new arcane technology. The Arcanelle branch has no formal role, but they are known for discovering slightly more unorthodox methods and creations.

History

The Mage's Guild dates back to the reign of the First King himself. It started with a small gathering of the kingdom's most powerful mages, and grew over the years into the powerhouse it is today. The branches split after the Mage's Guild excommunicated some members who were deemed too reckless. They went on to found the settlement of Arcanelle, and since have been recognised as an asset to the Mage's Guild and have been officially reinstated as a separate branch. The most recent development was the creation of the Royal College in Empala, which was founded shortly after King Jonad came to power. It has had a rotation of a few headmasters, though the current is Merrelwyn.
