Arcanelle
Arcanelle is the spiritual sibling to Arcadia, and geographically is very close. Whilst they both are dominated by mages and hold respective branches of the Mage's Guild. That, however, is where the similarities end. While Arcadia seeks to understand why things occur and how to replicate them, the citizens of Arcanelle operate by the motto of 'why not'. They are notorious for endorsing seemingly pointless and potentially lethal experiments purely out of curiosity. Whilst this has undeniably caused a great amount of property damage, Arcanelle has produced a great number of incredibly potent magical items. This is arguably the only reason the Arcadians keep on good terms with them, as they have a very thinly veiled distaste for the reckless nature of their methods.
Demographics
Arcanelle has one of the most varied race pools in all of Arunia, with the residents caring very little for the backgrounds of its residents. In fact, the majority of its denizens are graduates from the Royal Empala College of Arcane Arts who were deemed too reckless for the organised ranks of Arcadia, or individuals with mad genius looking for a place to conduct their experiment.
Government
Whilst the Mage's Guild is technically the ruling organisation of Arcanelle, the city exists in a state of almost complete anarchy.
Industry & Trade
Arcanelle is mainly self-sustaining, trading magical resources and artefacts within its own confines. It does have a fairly large trade connection with its sister city Arcadia as they often have need for its arcane resources.
Guilds and Factions
The slightly smaller, more volatile branch of the Mage's Guild operates from Arcanelle.
History
No one knows exactly how Arcanelle was founded, though rumour has it that it sprung up from a group of wizards exiled from Arcadia.
Architecture
The architecture of Arcanelle mimics its chaotic nature, with its streets and buildings cobbled together from all manner of styles and materials. The citizens' experiments result in quite frequent property damage that has resulted in its patchwork appearance and what appears to be a constant state of rebuilding.
