Repeated floatings Report

General Summary

Upon reading the note of the fur traders about repeated floating waves along the river (northwest of the Fort), the party went to see the traders for further information. They learnt that during their hunt, the traders made a camp along the river, when they were suddenly surprised by large waves flowing down the river, soaking the surroundings. The party decided to go after this lead and travelled along the river.   After a while, they found where the waves originated, but could not see how they were created. They found a path leading away from the river and decided to chase it. At the end, they found a small hut, which, after entering it, appeared to be much bigger than it seemed from the outside. The building was stuffed with a variety of remarkable constructs. Going downstairs, they found the creator of these pieces of art, a wizard. However, he did not seem to be at the peak of his mental ability, constantly repeating himself and forgetting what he said. Besides his fascination for his constructs (and the one Nox brought along) they grasped that he lost a certain key. From what the wizard said, they concluded that this had something to do with the waves flowing down the river.   The party went back to the river and by the use of the admiral’s ability to talk to fish, they learnt that some dangerous creatures, that live upstream the river, took the key. Further up the river, they found an underwater cave surrounded by entangling sea grass. Inside the cave, they found some nasty creatures, of which one look like a small Beholder. After a tough fight the party found some valuables in the cave, including the sought after key of the wizard.   Upon bringing the key back, the wizard immediately took it and opened a chest, which seemed to contain something magical. The wizard revealed that he had attempted to cast a powerful spell, which did not end up very well, trapping his mind in said chest. The key was the object which allowed him to get back to normal. To show his gratitude, he gave them one of his constructs, an owl, but then asked them to leave his home. As soon as they left the hut, it vanished without a trace. Back in the Fort, they learnt that the owl was designed to protect the Dawnbreaker’s guild hall, however, they could not find out, how exactly it is protected.

Rewards Granted
