Maverick D'Chanaa is an upperclass student at Astra Nova and Scion of House Mandalay. A talented inventor and fighter, many of Mandalay's aspirant crafters come to him for advice, and can stay level-headed in heated situations. Despite how serious he holds himself sometimes, he is genuinely friendly and willing to help others. Just like the other Scions, he makes a good leader and is quick to find ways to utilize every facet of an encounter to make some advantage for him and his allies. When not faced with a challenge, he tends to act much more laid back, chilled out and optimistic. If he does manage to lose his cool, his passionate and sometimes reckless side causes him to explode into more riskier plans, though he'll never intentionally act on a plan without first taking into account if innocents could be harmed. He is iconic for his use of metal controlling powers and alchemical solutions he carries into battle that he combines with impressive brawling skills. Both him and fellow Scion Delaney Kasanov have a friendly love for the same sports game, Crowns.

Body Features

Maverick is athletic in build, has dark skin and hair, as well as tattoos sleeved up his arms, chest, legs, and back that are invisible to the naked eye, unless using large amounts of energy to use his lithomancy abilities, in which case they show themselves for the duration, glowing with the white and orange of liquid metal.

Apparel & Accessories

He wears the Mandalay tan coat over his shoulders, as well as the dark grey top and pants underneath, with red and gold accents and a pair of slight green tinted smoky glasses. He fashioned a metal plated pair of gloves that both help with guarding and dealing blows and have alchemical circles etched onto them to quicken his ability to use alchemy mid combat.

When off campus, he favors wearing collared dress shirts, typically with suspenders hanging from his belt, pants, and belts, along with sturdy shoes, or tank tops whilst he works on alchemical or metal projects.

Personal history

The son of a Cyress noble with a bloodline originating from Aspis metalworkers. This heritage has been quickly forgotten by the family a good few generations back in favor of basking in riches. Maverick however took interest in those old ways and has since become fascinated by crafts. At first, he studied in secret to keep his parents from reprimanding him from neglecting to stick to their aristocratic ways, followed by eventually doing everything in his power to get accepted into Astra Nova. Through the years as a Mandalay student, he's climbed up the ranks with ease, passing classes with low effort and spending most of his time helping other students work on personal projects to fill time. One of the accolades he is most associated with is his crafting of a pair of metal, fully controllable arms that attach to his shoulder blades using a lithomancy technique he honed from old notes from his ancestors with the power to shape and control metal.
