Purpose / Function

Greiforn's Guild House is one of several similar guild houses of the StA, which serve as anchor points for storytellers and scavengers of the StA. In the guild houses prices on food and drinks are reduced for members of the StA and a one night stay is free and after that the price is reduced. This is also a place where storytellers can earn a fixed amount of money per story and aren't dependent on tips from patrons like in non-StA-owned localities, since non-StA-members have to pay an entry fee. Furhtermore, the guild house is a place for exchanging information and research. Documents from the archive in the HQ can be ordered to the house and be studied there.

Architecture

The guild house is a three storey house carved from stone. It has a hip-and-gable roof with single eaves supported by round collumns that form a sort of veranda between the outside and the actual wall of the building. It has a lot of rich, geometric carvings in the ridges and eaves of the roof and the intermediate sets between the collumns and the roof. There is a sliding door leading into the house, which is embossed with the crest of the StA. The windows are hexagonal and inlaid with a grid of geometric patterns carved from red gemstones.
The interior consists of a spacious room with small low table and cushions to sit on. There are fur rugs on the floor to keep the heat in and numerous round lanterns that disperse a warm yellow light. The room is sectioned into three parts by filigrane stone carved room dividers with geometric patterns. One section is for VIP customers who pay extra. In that section each table is sectioned off with a wooden room divider for more privacy. The largest section is the "general admittance" section where regular customers can sit and listen to the storytellers. The last section hosts a bar and a few tables for playing "Tempt Fate", a greifornic board game. There is a kitchen and a backroom where liquor is stored. On the first floor is a room for massages and bedrooms for guests. The second floor consists of entirely guest rooms and the third floor hosts a library.

History

The greifornic StA guild house was built 209 years ago and was the first guild house outside of the southern parts of Arregeas. It was built as a sign of goodwill and collaboration between Greiforn and the south and served as a base for further negotiation on bigger projects, culminationg in the underground railway between Greiforn and Mirkhar.

Tourism

The Guild House is somewhat of a tourist hotspot, not only because of its diplomatic significance, but also because of all the special events the administrator manages to organise. There is a tea tasting evening held yearly, famous storytellers come to entertain crowds for entire evenings and even do signings and Q&A's, there is experimental live music and the massages are legendary, you'd do better to book one months in advance.
