Seafarer

The world of Aroka is a dangerous place on land, even more so at sea. Braving the rough waves and devastating storms or the seas and oceans was thought to be insanity with so many voyages disappearing over the horizon never to be heard from again. The very few that have been fortunate to wash ashore or be rescued have told tales of great waves and colossal sea monsters alike, effortless capsizing even the greatest of vessels and dragging them down into the depths. For most, trying their luck at survival on land was the sensible thing to do. All this changed when Cogys used the knowledge gained from the ancient ruins their nation is built upon to craft thick hulls capable of withstanding the dangers of the sea. Ovular tubes powered by Cogys engineering that slice through the waves and can even be momentarily submerged without taking on any water allowed Cogys explorers to brave the sea and explore beyond the confines of their nation. This invention led to the discovery of Okanu and the connection with both Morydal and Ohedyn, paving the way for the formation of the Consortium. Now, they serve as cargo vessels, exchanging their more mundane inventions for special resources from the other nations such as fruits, gems, metals, and Shard.  Morydal, lacking the resources to construct their own vessels, have traded a large supply of their gems, metals, and Shard to acquire old or outdated versions of the Seafarer, giving them some capacity to control their own trade and transport, but they are still heavily dependent on Cogys for trade.  Ohedyn has not interest in these vessels, preferring to grown their own Waveroot vessels to travel across the sea.
