The Chamber of Query

The grave of a powerful oracle, who is said to answer any 1 question of those who seek her.

Summary

In one of Eregoth's mountain, there is said to be a chamber, or rather a grave for an ancient and forgotten oracle. This oracle was said to have the divining power envied by the gods themselves and during her life she devoted herself to understand the flow of the world. Those who venture to discover her chamber may ask her 1 question which she will answer to the best of her ability.

Historical Basis

Scholars have discovered old records of a Priestess of Pelor who possessed the ability of incredible divination, but have found no solid evidence for connecting the two. The strangest discovery in correlation with this myth is that so far no one has been able to discern the identities or names of either the oracle of the chamber or the priestess. Almost as if their very names have been erased from history.

Spread

Knowledge of this chamber is wildly dismissed as a plot device of old fairy tales of knights and dragons, any adult would scoff at even the utterance of the Chamber of Query.

Variations & Mutation

The most common transformation of this myth was used in several stories regarding the Knight, Sir Iltani. On his quests he would often visit the Chamber of Query to get answers from the oracle, who in this story was a old hermit woman by the name Milanoir, and she would assist him in his noble quests for Justice and Glory.

In Literature

This only appears in the stories of knights and dragons, and on very rare occasions actual history books where they make slight references to it.
